Materials
A normal application is to have the polyester on the exterior for abrasion resistance. It can be fabricated with the PVC to the exterior if moisture resistance is the primary requirement.
Other fabrics can be used for various characteristics, such as colour, wear characteristics, temperature ratings, etc. 600 Denier polyester is an economical choice with a lighter weight for easier handling. This makes it a good choice when used for identifying hoses and pipes. Other materials available include: Polyester with urethane backing, Cordura®, Nylons, vinyls and others.
